1. First Make free space in the machine (Minimum 25GB – If your HDD is Fully partitioned, Take the backup of your data and go to disk management option (Right click on My computer, select Manage option select disk management option it will open a window) , there u have to select one drive which is not having any data and right click on it and apply Delete option)
2. Make the system boot from cd rom drive (Go to bios(press “del ” or “F2” Button on system startup according to your machine)and set the first boot device as cd rom)
3. Insert the Ubuntu cd and restart the machine
4. After booting from cd rom u will get language selection option select English and press enter
5. Next step you will get 4 option in that u have to select “install ubuntu” option
6. Next step Select Language as English ,Forward
7. Next steps select Timing Zone Region=Asia City =Kolkata, Forward
8. Select keyboard as US English, Forward
9. (Important!) Next step it will search your Hard Disk Drive(HDD) and it will show 2 option in that you have to select “Specify Partition Manually(advanced)” option
10. Next step it will show all available partition and free space in your HDD (Don’t Delete none of the windows partition)
11. Select “Free space” and click on “New Partition” and create first partition as root (“/ “) Give 10GB or more for that one(file system ext3)
12. After that u have to select free space again and create another partition “/boot” .Give 500MB for that
13. Third Partition is “/home”. Give 10GB or more for that
14. Fourth u have to select “swap” partition in place of fileystem type(ext3), then partition column will be filled by “Not Applicable” Option automatically.
15. After that u have to press forward option and then it will automatically proceed the installation.
16. After installation completed it will ask for restarting the machine by removing the cd from cd drive.
